BLCI’s Update as of December 31, 2021

Bohol Light Company Inc. (BLCI) has three (3) substations with five power transformers. Out of which, only one (1) substation which supplies two (2) feeders can receive and distribute power any time the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) can transmit power from Bohol Power Plants.

As of 5:45pm of December 31, 2021, BLCI is still on standby mode awaiting for the power to be supplied from Power Barge (PB) 104 through NGCP’s transmission facilities going to BLCI’s substation.

According to the NGCP Area Control Center, the energized 69kV line is still up to Garcia Hernandez (Ubay-Alicia-Garcia) only. A minimum load is required to support PB 104’s stable operation. Only when its system would be stabilized can the Garcia-Tagbilaran 69kV Line be energized. However, current power consumption is still insufficient as of the moment.

With this, BLCI cannot give the precise time as to when the power supply will be transmitted to our system.

We humbly request our dear consumers to extend your patience as we welcome the New Year 2022.

Thank you for your understanding. Still, we wish everyone a Happy New Year!
